liquidsnail is a sound generation program which uses soundfonts, aimed
primarily at graphics tablets.
It is written in Python 3.
liquidsnail is free software under the terms of the GNU Affero General Public
License version 3 (or any later version). The author of liquidsnail is Niels
Serup, contactable at email@example.com (for now, just use this address for bug
reports). This is version 0.1.0 of the program.
To install liquidsnail the easy way, run::
(You must be a superuser and have python-setuptools installed to do this.)
Alternatively, you can download liquidsnail either from
http://metanohi.name/projects/liquidsnail/ or from
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/liquidsnail and then install it from the downloaded
file. This way you'll also get useful example files. To install liquidsnail
this way, run::
python setup.py install
liquidsnail depends on ``pygame``, the ``fluidsynth`` library, the ``mingus``
Python module, the progam ``sf2text`` from the ``awesfx`` package of programs,
and the availability of a soundfont (free soundfonts come with
``fluidsynth``). When this README was written, a Python 3 version of mingus was
available at http://code.google.com/r/artdent-mingus-python3/
Run ``liquidsnail --help``.
liquidsnail uses Git for code management. To get the latest branch, download it from
$ git clone git://gitorious.org/liquidsnail/liquidsnail.git
